ジャズピアニスト 小川理子 おがわみちこ Mixhiko Ogawa

Born in Osaka, she began studying classical piano at the age of three and at the age of 20 joined a jazz group at the Keio University in Tokyo.
She started playing Scott Joplin ragtime piano pieces and traditional jazz based upon Jelly Roll Morton,James P.Johnson and Willie “The Lion” Smith and since 1993 has been playing regularly at the New Suntory5 in Osaka,Japan.
When not performing she works for Panasonic in Tokyo.


She has performed numerous concerts in Japan ,both jazz and classical,and in the past few years has performed for several jazz societies in the U.S. Her appearances with the Yo Kimura trio and as a solo pianist at the International March of Jazz since 2000 elicited standing ovations from the audience.
Her recording debut for Arbors with her own trio,including Phil Flanigan and Ed Metz Jr.,with special guest Harry Allen,It’s all about Love!, has received rave reviews and was selected as the Number One jazz record for 2003 in Jazz Journal International.
